Slow Horses

by Mick Herron

MI5's failures are exiled to a shabby office called Slough House, until a kidnapping lands in their laps.

★★★★☆ 4 / 5

A fast, dry, cynical spy thriller with a great rotten boss, a tight plot and a very bleak sense of humour. It is violent in places and the middle leans on coincidence. Four out of five.
